Senior Backend Engineer – Taxes Module

• Take ownership of the Taxes module within the Billing team
• Build tax calculation and reporting logic
• Integrate third-party tax providers
• Improve system resilience and uptime
• Make architectural decisions and set technical direction
• Mentor engineers as the team grows
• Deliver key tax functionality in the first months
• Lay a solid foundation for future product and team growth
• Develop and maintain automated unit, integration, functional, and e2e tests

• 6+ years of backend engineering experience in Go, PHP, Kotlin, Java, or Python
• Strong understanding of high-load system design
• Solid experience with PostgreSQL
• Experience with queues or streams
• Strong testing culture: unit, integration, functional, and e2e testing
• Proactive, independent, result-oriented mindset
• Kafka experience is a plus
• AWS services experience is a plus
• CI/CD pipelines experience is a plus
• Fintech, payments, or financial domain experience is a plus
• Understanding of VAT, GST, or Sales Tax is a plus
• Experience managing teams is a plus
