Field Service Engineer

• Support the installation, maintenance, repair and upgrade of Illumina instrument systems
• Troubleshoot technical issues and provide on-site assistance to customers
• Help coordinate service requests and work toward effective, timely resolutions
• Support new instrument installations, including facility inspections and instrument validation
• Maintain appropriate service-parts inventory for successful customer interventions
• Work with sales and marketing colleagues around new system placements, upgrades and contract renewals
• Build strong relationships with customers and internal partners
• Participate in departmental projects while building technical knowledge and experience
• Collaborate with Service & Support, Applications, Sales, Marketing, Customer Service and Quality teams

• Entry-level engineering position
• Recently completed an MSc degree within a relevant Engineering field, OR completed a BSc degree with some relevant field experience
• Engineering or related technical background
• Interest in hands-on troubleshooting and working with complex instrumentation
• Exposure to optics and lasers
• Familiarity with Linux, networked systems or general IT would be advantageous
• Strong communication and customer-facing skills
• Ability to stay organised and composed when solving problems
• Collaborative mindset and genuine appetite to learn
• Must be living in Italy
• Valid driving licence in Italy is essential
• Flexibility to travel up to 80%
• Fluent Italian and English are essential
• Candidates based in Campania or Puglia are preferred, although other locations in Italy will be considered
• This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship
