Manager – Operations, Trade Operations, Exports

• Responsible for end to end management of Exports and related sub products and communications according to Bank internal policies, SOPs and ICC guidelines
• Provide advice and consultation to commercial customers on Export Finance, Export Payments, Document Checking, Letter of Credit Advising/Confirmation/Transfer, Collections and Risk Participation
• Advise the Product Development Team on Trade Finance activities in accordance with international practices, ICC publications, OPM, APPM, and local rules and regulations
• Ensure procedures comply with Bank Policy and Guidelines
• Review customer complaints and take immediate action to resolve them
• Ensure MBOs are achieved on time
• Exercise due diligence in checking applications, especially for Priority Customers, high-value transactions, and back-to-back or red clause letters of credit
• Ensure SLA adherence and processing according to SOP/OPMs, UCP/ISBP, and approved Product Programs; ensure charge recovery follows current guidelines
• Perform sanction checking of relevant parties in documents and checks related to TBML
• Handle Commodity Trade Operations documents
• Ensure no unattended reconciliation entries remain pending in Nostro or internal accounts daily
• Ensure cross-skilling of the entire team in at least two additional products
• Take corrective and preventive action based on customer complaints, operations errors, and quality/RCSA analysis
• Recommend changes to SOP, OPM and ADM to improve service levels without compromising controls
• Recommend training and workshops to address knowledge gaps and embed ownership of resolution
• Escalate errors, customer complaints, service defects and issues raised by counterparties, ensuring appropriate system recording
• Share responsibility with senior colleagues and work as part of the team

• Graduate with thorough and in depth understanding of Trade Finance products and functions
• CDCS/CITF/CTFP certified
• Thorough understanding of Swift, Trade Finance and Financial Operating Systems
• General Banking knowledge
• A Minimum of 9-12 years’ experience in Trade Finance
• Strong Communications and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word/Excel/PPT)
• Attentive to details, strong analytical skills and interpersonal skills
• Able to work under pressure, excellent organizational skills and good team player
