Product Owner, Pharma Background
About the role
• Translate product-line strategy into actionable team backlogs and validate sprint outcomes.
• Own and continuously prioritize the team backlog around highest-value work and product goals.
• Define sprint goals, participate in sprint planning, and coordinate realistic team commitments.
• Manage scope changes and incoming sprint requests, communicate with stakeholders, and adjust plans.
• Ensure backlog refinement aligns with product strategy and priorities.
• Collaborate with Product Management and stakeholders to refine features using market and customer insights.
• Coordinate BAs, SAs, and other roles during discovery to ensure clear, technically feasible requirements.
• Provide requirements to the team when goals and scope are understood.
• Plan team-level releases with the Engineering Manager.
• Participate in feature acceptance testing and demos.
• Participate in and co-lead sprint retrospectives with the Engineering Manager.
• Identify product risks and manage escalation paths.
• Act as the primary subject matter expert for internal stakeholders.
• Validate project plans and stakeholder documentation with the Delivery Manager.
• Establish collaboration with the web department and other teams for cross-product work.
• Coordinate cross-team epics and shared functionality.
• Work with the Estimator tool, obtain approvals, and support estimation.
• Collaborate with QA to categorize issues and prioritize bugs by business impact.
• 2+ years experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, Delivery Manager or Similar Roles
• 1+ years of experience in Pharma, Life Sciences, or Pharma Marketing domain (IT/tech environment), including content supply chain processes and systems (content creation, MLR, CRMs, Veeva, AEM, SFDC)
• Demonstrated success in defining and launching products that meet business objectives
• Experience with AI/ML-driven products, including understanding of model lifecycle, evaluation metrics, and limitations such as bias and hallucinations
• Strong proficiency in Jira, Confluence, and Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical specifications
• Familiarity with estimation techniques (story points, T-shirt sizing)
• English proficiency at upper-intermediate level or higher
