Senior Bookkeeper

About the role

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for clients, including recording transactions, reconciling accounts, and managing ledgers
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
• Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other accounts to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies
• Oversee payroll processing, including calculating and recording payroll transactions, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including processing invoices, payments, and collections
• Assist in the preparation of tax returns and provide support during tax audits
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and stay updated on changes in accounting standards and practices
• Train junior Bookkeepers as the team grows and less experienced team members come onboard, providing guidance and support to enhance their professional development

• Minimum of 4 years of Australian bookkeeping experience, within a public practice environment
• Proficiency in accounting software Xero
• Strong knowledge of Australian bookkeeping principles and practices
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
