Senior Software Engineer, Back End

• Design, develop, and architect microservices and Temporal workflows for money movement, trading, and account lifecycle
• Work with long-running state machines involving determinism, replay safety, idempotency, and retryable operations
• Make architectural decisions across multiple systems and improve testing practices
• Own gRPC services end-to-end in a multi-tenant platform
• Maintain partner-facing REST APIs
• Solve complex engineering and product problems and operate the systems built
• Instrument services in Datadog and own traces, dashboards, and monitors
• Build and debug integrations with custodians, clearing systems, and banking partners
• Calculate and generate tax documents

• 8-10+ years of software development experience building and operating production backend systems
• Computer Science degree or equivalent experience
• Go, or deep experience in another statically typed language plus genuine enthusiasm for learning Go
• Experience with distributed systems and partial failures, including idempotency, exactly-once semantics, and reconciliation
• Experience delivering high-quality production services and systems
• Experience debugging from traces and logs
• Experience creating postmortem documents and runbooks
• Prior financial industry experience and comfort in a regulated environment (nice to have)
• Direct experience with Temporal or similar workflow engines (nice to have)
• Experience with Datadog or comparable observability tooling (nice to have)
• Familiarity with gRPC and protobuf at scale (nice to have)
• Exposure to brokerage concepts including clearing, settlement, corporate actions, KYC/AML, and books and records (nice to have)
