• Design, run, and continuously improve project management practices for an AI-native team.
• Build AI agents and automations for status updates, activity summaries, risk detection, stale-work flagging, and plan maintenance.
• Establish project management standards and templates, coach product and engineering leads, and develop team-wide project management skills.
• Convert quarterly OKRs into dated, sequenced plans and maintain them as research results and priorities shift.
• Run a regularly reviewed product roadmap that supports grant proposals and funder reports.

• Own Linear and Asana project management tooling and ensure tool status reflects reality.
• Link GitHub work to Linear issues across active repositories and maintain visibility into PR reviews, releases, and repository ownership.
• Track and report milestone, cycle-time, and OKR progress to leadership; flag slipping dates with trade-off options.
• Coordinate partner pilots, program launches, research fellowship deliverables, and grant milestones.

• 7+ years of technical project or program management, delivering complex software with product and engineering teams; transferable experience such as a software engineering background will also be considered.
• Built or rebuilt a project management practice, including planning cadences, tooling, and standards that a team kept using.
• Shaped project management for AI-native teams and worked with engineers who build with AI coding agents.
• Uses AI daily in project management work and has built or set up AI agents, automations, or workflows for status reporting, risk detection, planning, or tracker hygiene, with concrete results.
• Delivered under continuous shipping and technical uncertainty in R&D, ML/AI, infrastructure, or developer platforms.
• Computer science or other technical degree, or 3+ years working as a software engineer.
• Comfortable reading code, PRs, and architecture documents.
• Deep, hands-on use of engineering trackers such as Linear, Jira, and GitHub; experience designing team workflows.
• Clear, concise written and spoken communication for explaining status, risk, and trade-offs to engineers, executives, and funders.
• Substantial overlap with US Eastern business hours: local time between one hour behind and two hours ahead of ET.
• Preferred: experience with fully remote distributed teams; mentoring or managing project/program managers; LLMs, AI evaluation, AI safety, or privacy-enhancing technologies; early-stage startups or research labs; grant- or partner-funded deliverables; external partner pilots or integrations; open-source projects.

• Mission-Driven Work: Be part of a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, focused on social impact rather than profit, offering the chance to make a meaningful difference in the world.
• Open Source Contribution: Make a real impact by contributing to an Open Source project that benefits a broad community.
• Collaborative Global Team: Join a dynamic, international team that values collaboration and diversity.
• Flexible Work Hours: Enjoy the autonomy to structure your work hours around what best fits your life and productivity.
