Senior Back-end Developer, AI

• Build and evolve AI agents that interact with people and perform tasks within the product
• Create integrations that connect agents to the system, such as tools and MCP servers, to securely query and update data
• Ensure that agent responses are accurate and faithful to the system’s data
• Measure response quality and improve prompts, context, and workflows based on the results
• Keep agents stable in the face of failures and limitations from AI model providers
• Write unit and integration tests
• Participate in code reviews and the team’s technical decisions
• Contribute to sprint cycles and follow deliveries through to production

• Strong back-end knowledge in Java, Python, or TypeScript, with a willingness to work with Java
• Experience developing REST APIs, including versioning
• Experience with back-end frameworks such as Spring Boot, FastAPI, or NestJS
• Knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MySQL) and ORM usage, such as JPA/Hibernate
• Experience with unit testing
• Knowledge of Git
• Knowledge of Clean Code and Design Patterns
• Practical use of AI tools in day-to-day development (Claude Code, Codex, or similar)
• Hands-on experience building features with AI models (LLMs), including calling model APIs, using tools (tool/function calling), and handling model responses
• Knowledge of an AI agent framework such as Spring AI, LangChain, OpenAI Agents SDK, or similar
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment with fast-paced delivery
• Nice to have: production experience with agents or AI features integrated into systems; context engineering, prompts, conversation memory, and RAG; response quality evaluation and agent observability; Model Context Protocol (MCP); NoSQL databases (Redis, MongoDB); Docker, Docker Compose, and Kubernetes
