Windows System Engineer
About the role
• Install, configure, administer, and support Windows Server 2016/2019/2022/2025 environments
• Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, organizational units, users, groups, and computer accounts
• Perform server builds, upgrades, migrations, hardening, and decommissioning
• Manage Windows patching using WSUS, MECM/SCCM, or equivalent platforms
• Troubleshoot operating system, application, authentication, networking, performance, and system-level issues
• Manage Microsoft Failover Clustering, Windows Server roles, and high-availability environments
• Support VMware and Hyper-V virtualized Windows workloads
• Perform system performance analysis and capacity optimization
• Implement and maintain Windows security baselines and hardening standards
• Troubleshoot authentication issues involving Kerberos, NTLM, LDAP, certificates, and domain connectivity
• Manage Windows services, scheduled tasks, event logs, registry settings, and system configurations
• Support backup, restore, disaster recovery, and business continuity activities
• Automate repetitive administration tasks using PowerShell
• Monitor infrastructure using enterprise monitoring and logging platforms
• Participate in incident, problem, change, and request management processes
• Prepare technical documentation, SOPs, knowledge articles, and infrastructure reports
• Participate in 24x7 on-call / shift support, where required
• Experienced Windows Engineer with enterprise Windows Server infrastructure experience
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Strong PowerShell automation skills
• Experience with VMware and/or Hyper-V
• Windows Server 2016/2019/2022/2025
• Active Directory AD DS, OU, users, groups, FSMO, Sites & Services
• DNS zones, records, DHCP scopes, and troubleshooting
• Group Policy creation, configuration, and troubleshooting
• PowerShell scripting, automation, and administration
• WSUS, SCCM/MECM, or equivalent patching platforms
• VMware vSphere and/or Microsoft Hyper-V
• Windows hardening, security baselines, and endpoint security
• TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing basics, and firewall concepts
• Windows monitoring, event logs, and performance counters
• Backup, restore, replication, and disaster recovery concepts
• Incident, Problem, Change, and Service Request management
• Good to have: Microsoft Azure/Azure Virtual Machines, Microsoft Entra ID/hybrid identity, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, SCCM/MECM administration, Windows Failover Clustering, IIS administration, Certificate Services/PKI, VMware vCenter and ESXi, ServiceNow or other ITSM platforms, enterprise monitoring tools, and large-scale data center support experience
• 24x7 on-call / shift support, where required
