Editorial Layout Designer

• Design and proofread editorial materials in accordance with project guidelines
• Make the necessary adjustments and corrections to files
• Prepare and deliver editable files, source files, and final PDFs according to specifications
• Maintain the visual consistency of materials throughout the process
• Submit unforeseen changes for approval before implementation
• Work on editorial projects such as books, sheet music, music booklets, essays, scripts, and photographic and documentary publications
• Work in one or more specializations: music, text, and photography

• Demonstrated experience in editorial layout design
• Proficiency in professional desktop publishing software and print file preparation
• Knowledge of typography, image resolution, color management, and prepress
• Ability to faithfully reproduce PDF layouts while preserving fonts, text, layout, sheet music, author credits, and other original elements
• Availability to present a portfolio of completed work
• For initial work on music projects, demonstrated experience with sheet music
• Higher education preferred
• 1–3 years of professional experience
