Python Team Lead

• Provide leadership for a team
• Take full ownership of backend features and improvements from design through implementation, deployment, and production support
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend services using Python and Django
• Build and maintain integrations with KYC, geolocation, payment, and other third-party services
• Work closely with product and engineering teams to scope and deliver new integrations
• Implement observability across integration flows, including monitoring, logging, and alerting
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure reliability, prevent regressions, and improve test coverage and testing practices
• Support production issues and participate in on-call rotations

• Experience leading and managing a team of at least 3 engineers
• At least 5+ years of development experience, with Python as the primary language and strong experience in API and system integrations
• Proven experience integrating third-party APIs
• Deep understanding of webhooks, callbacks, idempotency, and failure handling
• Experience with observability tools to monitor and troubleshoot production integrations
• Strong fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, and concurrency
• Experience designing architectures for highly loaded and scalable solutions
• Strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis to deployment and production monitoring
• Experience in early-stage startups and fast-paced engineering environments
• Experience writing automated tests, measuring test coverage, and defining test automation strategies
• Experience with observability tools such as Datadog, CloudWatch, and Grafana
• Experience in sports/betting industries is advantageous
• Payments and KYC integrations are a strong plus
