Mainframe Developer

• Perform activities across the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering through support for final deployment, following agile processes.
• Join the development team and take ownership of work items in each Sprint.
• Perform analysis, design, programming, testing, and requirements-related activities.
• Manage your own work, reporting delays and impediments to the team.
• Provide guidance and support to the team’s developers.
• Code and integrate software components according to technical specifications.
• Identify, build, and test components to ensure quality.
• Perform corrective and evolutionary maintenance of software components.
• Prepare technical documentation in accordance with contractual requirements.
• Integrate components with the team’s other components using the tool defined for the project.
• Set up and configure the local development environment.
• Provide support to the IT team and client users.
• Perform deliveries and integration testing in the client environment.
• Support software acceptance testing and deployment in the client’s environments.
• Provide training and knowledge transfer to the client.

• High school diploma.
• Preferred experience: 3 years developing and maintaining systems in an IBM z/OS mainframe environment, with a focus on COBOL, DB2, and CICS.
• Knowledge of Enterprise COBOL 4.0 or later.
• Knowledge of DB2 and SQL.
• Knowledge of CICS execution plan analysis (maps, transactions, and VSAM).
• Knowledge of JCL, TSO/ISPF, and SDSF.
• Experience with IBM tools: z/OS, RDz (or IDz), DB2, and MainView.
• Experience with Compuware tools: Xpediter, Abend-AID, and File-AID.
• Experience with BMC Control-M.
• Experience with Eccox QC-COBOL and QC-DB2.
• Experience with CA GEN and CA SCM.
• Knowledge of configuration management (Endevor or similar).
• Knowledge of version control practices, code review, and technical documentation.
• Knowledge of unit and integration testing principles.
