Data Science Specialist I – E-commerce

• Develop advanced Data Science solutions focused on Recommendation Systems and Search Engines, using machine learning and deep learning models to improve product discovery in e-commerce
• Execute the full Data Science solution lifecycle, from understanding the customer journey and feature engineering to model development, offline/online validation, and production deployment support
• Design model usage and monitoring in partnership with Product and Business teams
• Lead A/B tests and ensure the ongoing value of predictions by increasing conversion, CTR, and average order value
• Identify opportunities to apply Generative AI and NLP to search and recommendation experiences

• Experience as a data scientist developing recommendation models in an e-commerce context
• Strong knowledge of Statistics and Machine Learning
• Experience with Recommendation Systems, including Collaborative Filtering, Matrix Factorization, Content-Based Filtering, and Neural Networks for RecSys
• Knowledge of Learning to Rank (LTR) algorithms
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and PySpark/Spark
• Experience working in Squad/Data Product models in Retail, E-commerce, or Marketplace environments
• Analytical and creative thinking to design solution architectures capable of meeting the scale and latency requirements of high-traffic e-commerce platforms
• Strong communication skills to translate technical results and complex metrics for Product and Business stakeholders
• Knowledge of version control with Git
• Familiarity with Cloud environments (GCP, AWS) and model deployment pipelines (MLOps)
• Experience with AI-assisted code development (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, etc.)
