Freelance Full-Time English into Simplified Chinese – CTD Module Language Lead

• Translate and proofread Life Science documents for diverse clients
• Serve as a client-facing linguistic point of contact for TransPerfect
• Review and investigate client complaints and quality issues
• Determine root causes and provide documented responses and corrective actions
• Maintain language quality standards across projects and accounts
• Manage translation memories, glossaries, and style guides
• Work with Project Managers on requirements, scope, timelines, and client expectations
• Gather and relay client feedback
• Manage and guide a team of linguists, including assigning work and providing feedback
• Ensure adherence to client requirements and quality standards
• Translate and proofread regulatory Life Science documents using accurate and compliant terminology

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English and Simplified Chinese (China)
• Expertise in CTD Quality, CTD Non-Clinical, or CTD Clinical fields
• Strong attention to detail, including spelling and grammar accuracy
• Ability to maintain professionalism and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines
• Strong client communication skills, including handling complaints and feedback diplomatically
• Ability to manage, mentor, and give clear feedback to other linguists
• Strong organizational skills and ability to collaborate with Project Managers and cross-functional teams
• At least one of: degree in Translation, Linguistics, Language Studies, or equivalent translation-training program; 2 years of professional translation experience plus a college degree; 5 years of professional translation experience without a college degree; translation competence certificate issued by an appropriate government authority
• Academic background in pharmacy, pharmaceutical science, chemistry, biochemistry, or related field
• Experience translating regulatory/pharmaceutical documents
• Familiarity with CTD structure and terminology and CMC technical content
• Prior lead, reviewer, or quality management experience preferred
• Experience with language asset management and CAT tools preferred
• Ability to sign a confidentiality agreement
• Must complete translation and MTPE assessments
