QA Automation Engineer – Mobile, Web

• Define QA strategy, processes, test plans, and release criteria for mobile and web
• Design, build, and maintain scalable automated UI, API, and integration test suites for Android, iOS, and web
• Embed automated tests into CI/CD build pipelines
• Perform exploratory, regression, and release testing on real devices
• Test video playback, in-app purchases, and A/B test variants
• Partner with Engineering, Product, and Design to integrate quality into development
• Track and report quality metrics, flaky tests, and crash trends
• Drive continuous quality improvement
• Own quality across Android, iOS, and web clients as the first QA hire
• Define testing approaches, select tools, and build the automation framework from the ground up
• Collaborate with the multi-platform engineering team using Kotlin Multiplatform

• At least 4 years of experience in QA
• 3+ years of hands-on test automation experience
• Proven experience testing and automating native mobile apps (Android and iOS) in production at scale
• Experience with Appium and/or native frameworks such as Espresso and XCUITest
• Experience with web automation; Playwright preferred
• Experience with API testing, such as Postman
• Experience running automated tests in CI/CD pipelines, such as GitHub Actions
• Strong coding skills in at least one of Kotlin, Java, TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, or Swift
• Daily use of AI tools such as Claude, Cursor, or Copilot for writing, maintaining, and scaling tests
• Solid understanding of QA methodologies, test design, and the full software development life cycle
• Experience working in fast-paced, agile environments, preferably in consumer-facing mobile apps, gaming, or entertainment
• Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote setup
• Excellent written and verbal English
• Strong product sense and keen eye for user experience
• Experience as the first or only QA engineer in a startup is a huge advantage
• Direct experience with streaming platforms or video technologies, including HLS video playback testing, is a huge advantage
• Experience testing in-app purchases and subscriptions, including Google Play Billing and StoreKit, is a huge advantage
• Experience with Maestro for mobile UI testing is a huge advantage
• Experience with cloud device farms such as BrowserStack or Firebase Test Lab is a huge advantage
