US Tax Preparer

• Prepare and review accurate federal, state, and local tax returns
• Prepare individual Form 1040 returns and related schedules
• Prepare business returns, including Forms 1065, 1120, and 1120-S, as applicable
• Assist with fiduciary, nonprofit, estate, gift, payroll, and sales tax returns
• Enter tax information from supporting documents such as Forms W-2, 1099, K-1, and 1098
• Calculate taxable income, deductions, credits, estimated payments, and tax liabilities
• Prepare extensions, estimated payment vouchers, amended returns, forms, schedules, statements, and disclosures
• Organize client tax documents, financial statements, trial balances, and supporting schedules
• Prepare tax workpapers, book-to-tax reconciliations, and tax adjustment schedules
• Reconcile tax documents to accounting records and prior-year returns
• Maintain organized electronic files and complete supporting documentation
• Protect confidential taxpayer and financial information
• Import, enter, and review trial balance information in tax software
• Map general ledger accounts to tax return classifications
• Assist with depreciation, amortization, fixed asset, cost basis, basis, K-1, and allocation schedules
• Monitor return status, deadlines, outstanding information, workload, and productivity standards
• Coordinate with U.S. tax seniors, managers, partners, bookkeepers, accountants, and client teams
• Communicate questions, status updates, open items, delays, and review comments
• Correct rejected electronic filings for retransmission
• Escalate complex or uncertain tax matters
• Perform other tax preparation and accounting duties based on client needs

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field
• Previous experience preparing U.S. federal and state tax returns
• Experience preparing Form 1040 individual income tax returns
• Familiarity with Forms 1065, 1120, and 1120-S is preferred
• Understanding of fundamental U.S. federal income tax concepts
• Knowledge of Forms W-2, 1099, K-1, and 1098
• Experience preparing tax workpapers and reconciling supporting documentation
• Familiarity with tax return extensions, estimated payments, and electronic filing procedures
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and cloud-based document-management tools
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments
• Ability to meet strict filing deadlines
• Willingness to work hours aligned with the assigned U.S. client
• Willingness to support extended schedules during peak tax periods
• Reliable internet connection and a professional remote-work environment
• Preferred Philippine Certified Public Accountant license
• Enrolled Agent credential or active progress toward obtaining the credential
• Formal training in U.S. federal or state taxation
• Experience with U.S. public accounting or tax preparation firms
• Experience preparing partnership, S corporation, and C corporation returns
• Familiarity with multistate tax returns
• Familiarity with QuickBooks Online or similar cloud-based accounting software
• Experience with relevant tax preparation, workflow, or document-management platforms
