Software Development Engineer in Test II

• Create and run automated tests for the Fleet Ops project supporting backend services, APIs, and tools
• Develop and maintain test suites to verify hypervisor upgrades and consistent service functionality
• Develop and maintain automated Python and Pytest test cases for backend control plane services, REST APIs, and CLI utilities
• Develop functional and integration tests for virtual machine lifecycle operations, live migrations, and KVM hypervisor updates
• Integrate test suites into CI/CD pipelines for regular automated regression execution
• Investigate test failures, identify root causes, and collaborate with developers to resolve issues
• Support software platform maintenance and hypervisor upgrades within Akamai's expanding cloud infrastructure

• Two or more years of relevant experience in software test automation or quality engineering
• Education in technical fields
• Expertise in Python programming
• Practical experience using test automation frameworks such as Pytest
• Expertise in Linux environments
• Foundational CI/CD pipeline integration experience using tools like Jenkins or GitHub Actions
• Frontend test automation using TypeScript and web testing tools such as Cypress or Playwright — nice to have
• Knowledge of Linux hypervisors, KVM, VM live migrations, and low-level host stack operations — advantageous
• Experience with SaltStack, Ansible, or ArgoCD for infrastructure configuration management — advantageous
