Senior Scientist

• Provide subject-matter support for research projects within the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences
• Perform routine maintenance and coordinate repairs of analytical and preparative HPLC systems
• Plan and conduct independent research projects in pharmaceutical chemistry
• Publish research findings in English-language journals
• Independently teach courses in accordance with applicable collective bargaining agreement provisions
• Undertake administrative duties in research and teaching
• Provide subject-matter support for the analytical and preparative chromatographic separation of active pharmaceutical ingredients

• Completed doctoral/PhD degree in pharmacy, chemistry, or a related field
• Publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals
• Excellent subject-matter expertise and methodological skills in separation and analytical techniques, including enantiomeric purity analysis
• Knowledge of high-resolution mass spectrometry
• Experience independently teaching courses
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of university processes and structures
• Desirable: Experience with common operating systems and software applications for the automated measurement and analysis of HPLC separations
• Excellent command of English (C1 level)
• Ability to work effectively in a team, along with strong interpersonal and communication skills
• IT skills
