Buyer, Planner

• Support on-time delivery of products at the best possible price while minimizing production inventory levels for Avid and its suppliers
• Manage purchasing, materials requirements planning, inventory levels, supplier performance, and ERP data maintenance throughout the production life cycle
• Partner cross-functionally and cross-company with product quality, order fulfillment, manufacturing engineering, sourcing, new product introduction, and logistics teams
• Deliver against metrics for on-time delivery, approved cost, availability, and on-time shipment
• Manage suppliers and supply chain vendors to execute strategic material programs, reduce excess and obsolete inventory, and minimize material shortages
• Evaluate purchase requisitions using material requirements planning knowledge
• Approve and execute engineering change orders or deviations affecting material availability, obsolescence, and production throughput
• Support product manufacturing life cycles, including introduction, growth, and phase out
• Calculate and execute last-time-buy purchases followed by stock depletion
• Use supplier contracts and KPIs to support supplier performance and protect Avid from undue inventory liability
• Partner with sourcing to optimize supplier selections
• Maintain ERP data, including purchase information records, source lists, buyer codes, lead times, MOQs, ROPs, and safety stocks
• Resolve invoice discrepancies with accounts payable to enable on-time payment

• Bachelor’s degree in business/supply chain or Industrial Engineering preferred
• 1-2 years of professional experience in supply chain procurement, planning, or sourcing desired
• Experience purchasing electro-mechanical assemblies with PCBA content preferred
• Experience using NetSuite or equivalent ERP database systems
• Experience in lean manufacturing, supply chain, and inventory stocking strategies preferred
• Experience using Third Party Logistics for finished goods storage and distribution
• Ability to understand inventory impact on cash flow, costing activities, and price negotiation
• Demonstrated ability to set and achieve goals and meet objectives
• Strong Microsoft Office computer skills
• Ability to provide management updates, oral and written presentations, supplier status summaries, and problem-solving
• Experience using Artificial Intelligence to solve problems and gain efficiency preferred
