Communications Administrator – Climate Adaptation Innovation

• Prepare PARS communications and knowledge-management materials and organizational arrangements under the Project Manager’s guidance
• Review Global and National Child Project documentation, implementation updates, workplans, milestones and communication needs across six PARS countries
• Draft communication protocols, information-flow arrangements, branding resources, communication templates and a master presentation deck
• Organize and maintain the shared PARS communications folder and content repository
• Draft the PARS Knowledge Management, Communication and Advocacy Action Plan
• Draft and update the PARS communication strategy and Year 1 calendar of key events and showcases
• Develop communication, visibility, branding and marketing sections and practical tools for the PARS Internal Guidelines
• Coordinate communications for dissemination and training activities, including invitations, presentations, outreach materials, event documentation and post-event content
• Prepare accessible digital dissemination and training materials, workshops, webinars, case studies, blogposts and web content
• Prepare stakeholder communication and knowledge-sharing materials for consultations and the Gender-Responsive Strategy for Centres of Excellence
• Coordinate communication, outreach and visibility for innovation recognition events, launches, workshops, consultations, webinars and annual events
• Research media and publication opportunities; prepare media pitches, strategic articles, briefing notes and interview materials
• Curate and upload communication and knowledge content to the PARS Web Platform
• Coordinate communication-related deliverables with the subcontracted webmaster, institutional contractor, National Child Project teams and UNIDO Project Managers
• Ensure communications use accessible, gender- and youth-responsive language and comply with UNIDO and GEF requirements
• Perform other emerging communication tasks requested by the Project Manager

• Advanced university degree (master’s or equivalent) in communication, journalism, public relations, international relations or another relevant discipline
• At least 3 years of practical experience in public relations, communications, and production of diverse marketing and communication materials across broadcast and online media
• Experience tailoring key messages to different target audiences
• Demonstrated experience preparing clear, audience-appropriate communication and knowledge products, including web content, presentations, outreach materials and event communications
• Experience coordinating communication activities with multiple stakeholders, including project teams, government counterparts, partners, MSMEs or other external audiences
• Fluency in written and spoken English and French
• Advanced knowledge of and proficiency with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere, Final Cut Pro and website editing software is desirable
• Familiarity with UN system communication, visibility and reporting standards, including GEF standards, is highly desirable
• Experience contributing to communication and visibility strategies, knowledge-management plans, advocacy approaches or dissemination campaigns is highly desirable
• Experience evaluating needs, conditions and problems in developing countries and in technical cooperation projects in sustainable development, climate innovation or climate adaptation is desirable
• Experience preparing communication and dissemination materials for technical methodologies, policy guidance, training activities or knowledge products is desirable
• Experience managing or contributing content to digital platforms, websites, online knowledge repositories and virtual engagement tools is desirable
• Experience preparing and coordinating communications for virtual or in-person events is desirable
• Experience communicating on climate adaptation, innovation, private-sector development, MSMEs or programmes targeting vulnerable groups is desirable
• Prior exposure to gender-responsive and youth-inclusive communication, capacity-building, knowledge-sharing or advocacy initiatives is desirable
• Familiarity with UNIDO’s mandate and operational modalities and climate adaptation programmes in LDCs is desirable
• Fluency and/or working knowledge of another official UN language or other language, particularly Portuguese, is desirable
