Korean Linguist – English to Korean

• Perform copy-editing tasks on assigned projects or accounts
• Perform on-demand translation tasks
• Serve as lead linguist on assigned accounts
• Own deliveries translated internally or by external partners into the target language
• Prepare, manage, and maintain glossaries, style guides, and work instructions according to account and project quality standards
• Manage project-related queries
• Resolve terminology and language questions and support interaction among team members
• Coordinate with freelancers, agencies, and internal linguists
• Test and qualify new freelancers and vendors
• Develop and train internal linguists and new or existing freelancers
• Interact with clients on linguistic matters
• Participate in developing improved working processes and propose process improvements
• Meet or exceed productivity, on-time delivery, and quality KPIs
• Achieve goals set by the team manager

• University degree in Translation/Applied Languages/Linguistic Studies, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• University degree in another field plus 2 years of full-time translation experience, or 5 years of full-time professional translation experience
• Fluent in English, written and spoken
• Native fluency in the target language
• 8+ years of relevant experience in translation, localization, editing, or content writing
• 5+ years of review experience
• Thorough understanding of the localization process
• Excellent knowledge of terminology across various subject matters
• Subject-matter expertise for assigned content specialities, service lines, and processes
• Excellent user experience with CAT tools such as XTM and SDL Studio
• Experience with issue tracking and query management tools such as JIRA
• Ability to quickly learn new localization tools and applications
• Excellent user experience with Windows and Office applications
• Ability to provide clear, concise, and constructive feedback
• Ability to coordinate internal and external translators
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Ability and willingness to train or teach others and share knowledge
• Ability to work with tight deadlines
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from managers, clients, and linguists
• Ability, willingness, and experience communicating with customers at various levels
• Ability to solve practical problems involving limited standardization
• Ability to work in a virtual team
