Software Engineer, Python – Billing

• Build and maintain efficient back-end features in Python with a production team
• Improve application performance and reliability
• Define REST APIs and integrate them into solutions
• Participate in architectural and design decisions
• Build toward an efficient distributed application and services architecture
• Improve delivery pipelines and processes
• Maintain and support Gcore’s Billing Engine for financial transactions and global service delivery

• Strong knowledge of software development principles and the entire software development lifecycle
• Expertise in Python programming
• Significant experience with the Django framework
• Extensive experience with relational databases, particularly Postgres
• Experience writing, analyzing, and optimizing SQL queries
• Experience with RabbitMQ message brokers and Celery asynchronous task queues
• Proficiency in creating and consuming APIs
• Understanding of modern CI/CD practices
• Understanding of observability tooling and basic DevOps principles
• Verbal and written English communication skills
• Ability to collaborate remotely with a globally distributed international team
• Solid understanding of Kubernetes containerization and orchestration (a plus)
• Strong grasp of Agile and test-driven development (a plus)
• Knowledge of additional backend technologies and frameworks (a plus)
• Experience with system monitoring tools and performance optimization techniques (a plus)
• Prior experience with billing or payment systems (a plus)
