• Strong knowledge of German grammar, syntax, morphology, phonology, semantics, and pragmatics
• Ability to analyze verb conjugation, the nominative, accusative, dative, and genitive case system, word order, declensions, gender, and stylistic variation
• Clear, metacognitive communication and ability to “show your work”
• A master’s or PhD in German language, linguistics, or a closely related field is ideal
