Network & Security Engineer – pfSense, OPNsense

• Handle network and firewall topics across CONVOTIS / MCON, from day-to-day operations to project work
• Implement and document IPSec VPNs and firewall rules on pfSense and OPNsense
• Design and document network environments for customer and internal projects
• Perform advanced troubleshooting, including deep packet analysis and resolving routing, switching, and VPN connectivity issues
• Introduce basic network automation using Ansible, Python, or Bash
• Work closely with the SOC team to analyze firewall logs and help mitigate security incidents
• Train and onboard new colleagues and share knowledge within the team
• Suggest improvements to configurations and technical details
• Participate in NOC/SOC Operations Team shift duties, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Take on tasks beyond the core role to broaden knowledge or support colleagues

• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience, excluding educational programs and internships
• Extended hands-on knowledge of pfSense and OPNsense
• Experience with IPSec VPNs
• Knowledge of BGP or other dynamic routing protocols
• Experience with switches, preferably Dell
• Networking knowledge on Proxmox
• In-depth knowledge of IPv4 and IPv6
• First experience with network automation using Ansible, Python, or Bash
• Independent and structured way of working
• Strong focus on clean documentation
• Fluent English and Spanish
• German is a plus
• Willingness to participate in shift duties, including nights, weekends, and holidays
