Senior Full Stack Engineer, Ruby on Rails

• Develop, maintain, and enhance Ruby on Rails applications and backend services
• Build and maintain APIs and integrations with internal and external systems
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to deliver new features and improvements
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions
• Troubleshoot and resolve bugs and production issues
• Support application performance, reliability, and scalability improvements
• Contribute to testing, deployment, and continuous integration processes
• Document technical solutions and share knowledge with the wider team
• Continuously develop technical skills and stay current with industry best practices
• Work on ZigZag’s modern, scalable post-purchase and returns SaaS platform
• Report to Orlin Bobchev

• Extensive commercial experience developing and maintaining scalable applications using Ruby on Rails in a senior engineering capacity
• Good understanding of object-oriented programming and software engineering principles
• Strong commercial experience with React and TypeScript
• Ability to build and maintain modern, scalable user interfaces and contribute across the full application stack
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
• Experience working with relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL
• Strong knowledge of automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and engineering best practices
• Experience using Git and collaborating within an Agile development environment
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Proven ability to take ownership of complex technical challenges and deliver scalable, maintainable solutions
• Fluent English communication skills
• Right to work in Bulgaria
• Visa sponsorship is not available
• Knowledge of Docker and containerised applications is desirable
• Familiarity with RabbitMQ, Redis, or Elasticsearch is desirable
• Experience within SaaS, e-commerce, or technology-focused businesses is desirable
