Secondary Systems Engineer – Substations

• Handling tenders from transmission system operators for protection and secondary systems in high- and extra-high-voltage substations
• Planning and designing protection systems for 220 kV and 380 kV installations in compliance with applicable standards and operational safety requirements
• Developing protection concepts such as distance protection, differential protection, and breaker-failure logic
• Parameterizing Siemens SIPROTEC protection relays and creating consistent device settings
• Conducting technical discussions with transmission system operators, planners, customers, and internal departments
• Preparing protection schematics, logic matrices, deviation lists, and technical specifications
• Preparing and reviewing FAT and SAT test plans
• Supporting protection testing as well as fault analysis and commissioning

• Completed degree in electrical engineering, industrial engineering, or a comparable qualification
• Strong theoretical and practical command of protection relays such as Siemens SIPROTEC (7SA6, 7SD6, 7UT6, 7SJ6), ABB RELION, or GE MiCOM
• Proficient in using ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, or PSS/E
• Confident parameterization of protection devices using DIGSI 5/6 or ABB PCM600
• Experience with OMICRON Test Universe (CMC, CMControl) or Doble F6150
• Knowledge of IEC 61850, IEC 60255, VDE 0101/0102, and ENTSO-E guidelines
• Precise technical documentation using AutoCAD, EPLAN, or MS Visio
• In-depth understanding of protection engineering, grid operation processes, and secondary systems
• Willingness to travel occasionally to test facilities, customer sites, or construction sites
• Fluent German and English
