Senior Software Engineer – MoneyGram API Development

• Solve critical business problems for clients using back-end technologies
• Contribute to system architecture, microservices design, and integration patterns supporting scalability, maintainability, and performance
• Work across architecture, implementation, delivery, and operational excellence in an agile team environment
• Take ownership of assigned work and outcomes
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and QA to deliver end-to-end solutions
• Automate repeated testing, build, and deployment procedures

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
• 10+ years of backend engineering experience with a focus on Java
• Strong expertise in Spring Boot, RESTful services, and microservices architecture
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, Git, Docker, and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with messaging platforms such as Kafka and RabbitMQ
• Experience with product management processes and tools, including Agile methods and Kanban
• Ability to solve complex technical challenges
• Openness to shift work: night shifts initially for 3–4 months, followed by afternoon shifts
• Ability to leverage AI tools such as Claude, Cursor, or Augment AI for coding, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting
• Experience leading the design, development, and implementation of complex systems
• Experience with unit testing using JUnit, Mockito, and Groovy
• Experience with cloud development, deployment, and maintenance using AWS or GCP
• Knowledge or experience with relational databases and NoSQL databases such as Couchbase and MongoDB, including database optimization
• Familiarity with security best practices including OAuth2, JWT, encryption, and LDAP

• Shift work opportunity with night shifts for the initial 3–4 months and afternoon shifts in following months
