Senior Software Developer, E-Commerce Systems

• Extend and improve a custom e-commerce technology platform
• Fix unreliable vendor feeds and improve pricing logic
• Build APIs and improve product data quality
• Replace manual spreadsheet workflows with dependable software
• Work on vendor imports, feeds, product information management, categorization, images, and catalog data quality
• Build inventory and pricing feed ingestion using AWS Lambda, S3, and SFTP
• Develop scrapers for vendors without feeds
• Improve pricing, deals, and cart logic
• Build and test storefront API endpoints using the Django backend and React Router storefront
• Improve Elasticsearch-backed search, facets, and recommendations
• Create internal tools, scripts, admin screens, and LLM-based workflows for business automation
• Contribute to infrastructure migration from hand-built AWS and Cloudflare resources to OpenTofu
• Write meaningful automated tests and maintain typed, reviewed, focused code
• Coordinate production migrations, data fixes, and infrastructure changes carefully
• Use and review AI coding assistant output while owning shipped code

• Strong Python programming skills and experience building production software
• Solid SQL and PostgreSQL knowledge, including query performance investigation
• Solid experience building and consuming APIs; Django Ninja, Pydantic or OpenAPI
• Experience processing real-world data from CSV or Excel files, external feeds, scraping, or ETL pipelines
• Sufficient React and TypeScript experience to contribute to frontend work when required
• Strong testing practices with assertions against specific business outcomes
• Good engineering judgment when choosing between scripts, application features, process improvements, and AI-based automation
• Clear written communication for pull requests, technical documentation, tickets, and collaboration
• Ability to investigate unfamiliar systems, work independently, and deliver maintainable solutions
• Hands-on Django experience, including ORM, migrations, and admin tools (preferred)
• Familiarity with Django Ninja, Pydantic, OpenAPI, or similar API development tools (preferred)
• E-commerce experience involving product catalogs, PIM, order management, checkout, or Stripe (preferred)
• Experience with Elasticsearch or another major search platform (preferred)
• Familiarity with AWS Lambda, S3, ECS, Cloudflare Workers, or OpenTofu/Terraform (preferred)
• Experience with large product catalogs or data-intensive retail systems (preferred)
• Practical experience using AI coding assistants in a reviewed, test-driven development workflow (preferred)
