Applications Engineer

• Evaluate customers’ manufacturing needs and provide complete engineering solutions with associated costs
• Troubleshoot and provide technical support to customers, sales and other departments
• Manage specified applications and provide solutions
• Maintain thorough working and application knowledge of company products and services
• Acquire and develop professional sales and technical knowledge through company development and training programmes
• Prove out tooling performance within a production environment
• Maintain working knowledge of CAD/CAM software solutions NX and Fusion 360
• Compile and present project documentation, including solid modelling, process sheets, tooling sheets, time studies, cost-per-part evaluations and tooling quotations
• Conduct all activities professionally, confidentially and ethically
• Perform other duties that enhance the company’s image and performance

• A recognized qualification in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or time served apprenticeship
• Minimum 5 years of experience within the metal cutting or precision tooling industry
• Medium level of competence using CAD/CAM – NX + Fusion 360
• Programming 3 and 5 Axis CNC Turning and Milling machines working with different materials
• In-depth understanding of the manufacturing industry and concepts associated with Kennametal Products
• Innovative and self-motivated, able to work independently with supervision
• Proficiency with MS Office in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Basic command of the English language
• Experience manipulating solid models
• Working knowledge of various materials
• Knowledge of machine tools including Mazak, DMG, Okuma, Starrag, Grob, TAJMAC, Chiron and EMAG
