Staff Data Scientist

• Lead the architectural direction for candidate retrieval, multi-objective ranking, and learning-to-rank models
• Advance personalization engines using merchant history, niche trends, and sales performance signals
• Connect merchant sales and conversion data to upstream design generation and candidate-ranking models
• Oversee image-generation pipelines combining multimodal models with deep-learning architectures
• Develop computer-vision capabilities for delayering, background separation, print-area quality analysis, and asset validation
• Own end-to-end product innovation from model selection and fine-tuning through serving pipelines and frontend workflows
• Prototype, iterate, and ship agentic pipelines and ML features using AI-assisted development tools
• Define online/offline evaluation frameworks and oversee continuous A/B testing
• Guide make-vs-buy, API-versus-self-hosted, fine-tuning, and inference-optimization decisions
• Set applied-ML standards, mentor senior individual contributors, run design reviews, and promote measurable business impact

• 8+ years of hands-on experience building, deploying, and scaling production ML systems
• Proven track record of staff-level technical leadership
• Deep expertise in modern search, candidate generation, and recommendation architectures
• Experience with Two-Tower models, ANN vector indexing, Transformer rerankers, and learning-to-rank algorithms
• Hands-on experience with classical computer vision and modern deep vision architectures
• Experience with OpenCV, CNNs, Vision Transformers, diffusion models, and multimodal LLMs/CLIP
• Proven ability to build closed-loop ML systems using clicks, conversions, and sales outcomes
• Fluency in Python and the modern AI/ML stack
• Experience with PyTorch, LLM orchestration, and agentic frameworks such as LangChain and LangGraph
• Experience with FastAPI, event-driven async processing, CometML, Flyte, and Snowflake
• Comfort using Gemini, Claude Code, and Claude Cowork for AI-assisted development
• Proven track record of full technical ownership of end-to-end features
• Nice to have: experience in e-commerce, two-sided marketplaces, or creator platforms
