Lead Analyst, Investment Reporting

• Oversee and review U.S. GAAP, Canadian GAAP, regulatory, tax, and/or Board financial reporting for investment portfolios of the Insurance Company, subsidiaries, and affiliates
• Apply accounting pronouncements to investment portfolios
• Assist with investment reporting for U.S. and Canadian GAAP, regulatory, tax, and/or board requirements
• Ensure reporting consistency in financial statements, board reports, and analyst information
• Research and propose new disclosures and report modifications in response to new pronouncements and guidelines
• Determine appropriate disclosures for new investment types
• Interpret authoritative pronouncements and guidelines
• Recommend changes to accounting systems and information presentation
• Ensure a proper audit trail for financial statement numbers
• Analyze and interpret financial results
• Prepare audit documents and explain reports to auditors
• Respond to ad-hoc reporting requests
• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• 5-7 years of financial reporting experience required
• Public accounting or investment related financial reporting experience a plus
• CPA preferred
• Advanced Excel skills
