Game Technical Artist

Sobre a vaga

• Own the tooling and standards behind the journey from finished 2D art and animation to working assets in Unity
• Evaluate the art and animation pipeline and technical stack, identify unsupported visual or creative requirements, and propose practical solutions
• Build and maintain scripts, exporters, importers, and validation checks
• Define conventions for asset structure, naming, export settings, versioning, and implementation readiness
• Define efficient Unity asset integration, including prefabs, reusable configurations, and animation integration
• Validate assets on devices and diagnose visual defects, integration issues, and mobile performance problems
• Identify pipeline bottlenecks, trace recurring issues to root causes, and resolve them across Art, Animation, Design, and Engineering
• Structure assets, rigs, animations, and setups for reuse across games, levels, and IP reskins
• Evaluate new tools and pipeline changes, including a potential move from Adobe Animate to Spine
• Identify, pilot, and document AI-assisted production workflows with quality and licensed-IP guardrails
• Write documentation, train colleagues, and make tools accessible to users with different technical confidence levels
• Collaborate directly with discipline leads and Engineering to reduce manual work and catch integration errors early

• Hands-on experience integrating 2D art and animation into Unity for shipped or production-ready games
• Experience with node-based shader editors such as Amplify Shader Editor or Shader Graph
• Experience creating custom shaders and effects
• Solid understanding of Unity’s different render pipelines, their capabilities, limitations, and use cases
• Solid grasp of 2D asset and animation pipelines, including layered art, PSD or Animate files, sprite or skeletal animation, and atlas packing
• Scripting ability to automate production problems
• C# experience for Unity editor tooling; Python or similar for external automation is welcome
• Practical troubleshooting skills, including reproducing issues, isolating causes, and fixing root causes
• Understanding of mobile performance constraints, including app size, downloads, memory, draw calls, texture sizes, and animation cost
• Practical experience using AI tools, such as coding assistants, for production tools
• Ability to work with artists, animators, designers, and engineers and explain technical decisions to non-technical colleagues
• Comfort writing documentation and teaching others
• English fluency is essential; certifications are not necessary
• Nice to have: Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Animate workflows
