Knowledge and Communications Lead

• Drive the narrative for a major multi-year partnership with a global foundation
• Attend partner calls, capture the substance, and produce content without re-briefing
• Turn live thinking into decks, briefs, blogs, and reports on quick timelines
• Draft, edit, and finalize research decks, leadership summary reports, quarterly and annual reports, and toolkit content
• Own and evolve the partnership’s core narrative across countries and workstreams
• Codify how the work is described for leadership and partners
• Maintain a consistent voice across the portfolio and train project teams to use it
• Read, review, and write RFPs, experiment design documents, research protocols, and playbooks
• Edit dense internal documents for clarity, structure, and audience relevance
• Provide content architecture for reports, decks, and toolkits
• Work with the Graphic Designer to define templates and a short style guide
• Build a reusable library of core language, descriptions, and framing
• Collaborate with project leads, researchers, and designers to ensure content is accurate, timely, and aligned

• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in strategic communications, editorial, knowledge translation, or technical writing
• At least 3 years of experience in international development, philanthropy, or social impact
• Demonstrated experience distilling complex research, program models, or technical material into clear content for senior audiences
• Portfolio showing reports, decks, briefs, blogs, and at least one technical or research-based document
• Experience working hand in hand with researchers, designers, or program teams
• Experience building and maintaining a consistent voice across multiple products or teams
• Exceptional written English, with the ability to write fast without losing quality
• Comfort with ambiguity and shifting priorities across a live portfolio
• Advanced understanding of strategic communication and content strategy
• Editorial judgment in cutting, restructuring, and positioning content
• Technical fluency with research protocols, experiment designs, and RFPs
• Ability to operate independently on complex assignments
• Ability to collaborate across research, design, and program teams
• Ability to manage input from multiple stakeholders
• Ability to train and involve others in strategic communication
• Ability to model culturally competent JEDI practices and address personal and structural biases
• Nice to have: experience with foundation or institutional funder audiences
• Nice to have: experience with design research, human-centered design, or experimentation methodologies
• Nice to have: experience writing or reviewing RFPs and proposals
• Nice to have: experience living and working in sub-Saharan Africa
• Must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time
• All offers are conditional on satisfactory background check and criminal record clearances

• Fully remote role
• Salary paid in the local currency of the staff member’s permanent work location
• Possibility of contract extension beyond the initial 12-month term
• Up to 50% travel for field sprints and stakeholder alignment
