Magazine Editor

• Oversee editing and production of the Irish Daily Star’s Chic celebrity and TV listings magazine
• Produce and sub-edit quality, engaging magazine pages across a 7-day week
• Ensure the magazine gets off stone to deadline
• Draw up weekly content plans covering Irish celebrity, showbiz, TV, lifestyle features, and feature writing
• Maintain high editorial standards and ensure pages match house style
• Meet off-stone deadlines
• Report directly to the Group Production Editor
• Write features when required
• Produce and sub-edit pages for other Reach magazine titles when required
• Collaborate with the editor, backbench, news editors, picture editors, and magazine colleagues
• Share and collate feature and TV listing content
• Complete page production in line with established KPIs and benchmarks
• Ensure compliance with legal, IPSO, PCI, Reach policies, and procedures

• Extremely creative journalist with strong ideas and willingness to try new ways of working
• Excellent InDesign, ContentWatch, and InCopy skills
• Proven ability in page design, sub-editing, page proofing, and headline writing
• Experience producing pages in a fast-paced daily newspaper or national magazine environment
• NCTJ qualification ideally
• Experience working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines
• Ability to operate within legal requirements with attention to detail
• Familiarity with house style and strong brand positioning
• Experience aligning pages with strong national news brands
• Ability to work independently, make decisions, and demonstrate excellent organisational skills
• First-class communication skills and strong news sense
• Ability to work 5 days over a 7-day rota, including weekends and late shifts
• Candidates must be based in Ireland
